  A beautifully restored pub imbued with history in every beam and fire, the Belvedere Arms is the perfect place for a leisurely meal.

  The menu is packed with pub staples, but all with a unique twist, with the plethora of salads (labelled 'leaves' on the menu), starters, pizzas, pastas, grills, and luscious puddings meaning there's something wonderful for everyone to enjoy no matter what their taste. Meanwhile, daily specials are made with market fresh ingredients so there's something new to try on every visit.

  The stone baked pizzas are all lovely, with the garlic pizzette especially great, and doing double duty as a garlic bread-like side if you want to try other things on the menu. If you're with friends though, we can't recommend anything more highly than going for a few of the sharing plates. The antipasti with dolcelatte and roasted vegetables, paired with a box baked camembert with onion marmalade and lots of rustic bread on the side is perfect for enjoying with a glass of wine and some good company - and as well as all the good ale you'd expect from such a lovely pub, there's a great wine list for grape lovers which makes the prospect even more tempting.

  If the weather's good then sit outside and pretend you're in the Mediterranean enjoying the sunshine. Bliss.
