Renowned chef Heston Blumenthal brought fine dining to Bray with his internationally acclaimed restaurant The Fat Duck, but that's not his only association with this pretty village. Five years ago he took ownership of the Bray pub and it was soon awarded a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for its outstanding cuisine.
Based in a beautiful Tudor building, The Hinds Head focuses on traditional British tavern cuisine packed with seasonal ingredients and Blumenthal's trademark flair. Historic dishes of British gastronomy past vie for place on the menu with more well-known favourites, Lancashire hotpot and their award-winning Sunday roast.
Filled with warm, welcoming touches, from sturdy oak panelling and beams to leather chairs and real fires, The Hinds Head focuses, as you'd expect on great quality food made with the best fresh ingredients. The menu is constantly changing depending both on what's in season and what's fresh from their suppliers. We loved the pheasant and bacon terrine with spiced pear chutney and the Oxtail and Kidney Pudding, made in true Tudor style.
Definitely recommended.
