Whether you are celebrating a special occassion, looking for the perfect place for a romantic meal for two, or just wish to spend a long lunch with the family, The Elephant Hotel's Christoph's restaurant can cater to whatever your need.
Set in the lovely village of Pangbourne, just a few minute's drive from the centre of Reading, The Elephant Hotel prides itself on being a little bit different to other venues. Luxurious and quirky, the decor from reception, to the restaurant through to the bedrooms, boast handcrafted Indian furniture, sumptuous fabrics and rich oriental rugs; all of which add to a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
For a fine dining experience, book a table at the stunning Christoph's restaurant. Since the beginning of this year, chef Chris Prow (renowned in Berkshire for championing 'braised squirrel' and for his regular slots on BBC Radio Berkshire) has reinvented the menu; serving up delightful main dishes such as Onglet steak with caramalised shallots, truffle butter and hand cut chips and Garlic and pea risotto with poached duck egg and aged Parmesan cheese. Main courses start from £11.95 and starters from £5.50.
But let's not forget dessert: for chocoholics, try the mouthwatering Valrhona Araguani chocolate fondant with white chocolate ice cream and for something a little more unusual, sample the Lavender pannacotta with fennel brittle. All desserts cost £6.
If you fancy something a bit more simple and classic, eat in the comfy surroundings of Babar and choose from dishes such as beer battered cod with hand cut chips, peas and all the trimmings (£10.95) or the infamous Elephant beef burger topped with smoked cheddar mayor, bacon and fries (£11.50).
If you're after a weekday lunch, then the Elephant Express Menu (served between 12 and 3pm, Monday to Friday) offers two courses for £9.95 or three courses for £13.50.
Visit the website to view the menus in full and to see the latest special offers and we look forward to welcoming you at The Elephant soon.
